Will I be penalized if an ACH transaction is returned?

**Summary**  
You will be charged a fee for an individual return on an ACH transaction. Unauthorized returns are subject to a penalty under Nacha rules to ensure you take seriously your responsibility to obtain authorization before initiating an ACH transfer.

If you begin to experience a high volume of returns, you should reach out to your Customer Excellence Manager to discuss how you plan to reduce these returns as soon as possible.
