Information
There are a few best practices to keep in mind when working with end users who are uploading an image of their personal ID, which will greatly reduce the chances of an end user’s ID being rejected:
- All four edges of the user’s document should be visible
- Use a dark/high contrast background
- At least 90% of the image should be the document
- Should be at least 300dpi
- Capture image from directly above the document
- Make sure that the image is properly aligned, not rotated, tilted or skewed
- No flash to reduce glare
- No black and white documents
- No expired ID
By following these best practices for personal ID upload, end users will advance to the verified account state sooner. Things such as glare, shadows, blur and hologram interference may prevent an end user’s ID from being accepted for verification. It is important to recommend a user take as clear an image of their ID as possible for the best results.
