What is a transaction send limit?
Summary
On the Dwolla Network, a transaction send limit refers to limits on the maximum amount of funds that each end user type can send per transfer.
The default transaction send limit for a personal Verified Customer Record within Dwolla’s Network is $10,000. For a Business Verified Customer Record, the default transaction send limit is also $10,000.
Unverified Customer Records have a transaction send limit that is also a weekly limit. The default limit for Unverified Customer Records is $5,000/week. For purposes of that limit, a week is defined as Monday to Sunday, UTC time.
You may have an Unverified Customer who is seeking to send more than this weekly limit. At this point, it may be beneficial to upgrade them to a Verified Customer Record type so that they have a larger transaction limit. You can read more about customer record types and their associated default transaction send limits here.
Dwolla is able to accommodate higher transaction send limits for either your end users or for a Dwolla client’s own account, subject to a risk review. If you are interested in raising a transaction limit, please reach out to your account manager directly for more information.
