What is a Personal Verified Customer Record (VCR)?

Summary
Verified Customers are customers who have had their identity verified on the Dwolla Platform and are eligible to hold a Dwolla Balance. In every transfer initiated through the Dwolla Platform, at least one party must be a Verified Customer. Think of the Dwolla Balance as a wallet within the Dwolla Network, which allows a Verified Customer to hold, send or receive funds.

There are two types of Verified Customers: Personal or Business.

Personal Verified Customers are individuals who are using personal bank accounts to send or receive transfers. To become a Personal Verified Customer, the individual will need to complete the Customer Identification Program (CIP) verification process.

CIP verification involves verifying the user’s full legal name, date of birth, physical address, email address and an identification number (usually the last four digits of their social security number). For more information about creating and verifying a Personal Verified Customer, check out our customer verification guide.

With a default per-transaction limit of $10,000, this Customer type is able to interact with your application seamlessly.
