What are good practices to ensure that our customers pass verification upon registration?
Summary
Verification for any Personal Verified Customer Record (VCR) or Business Verified Customer Record (BVCR), is conducted by a third-party verification service provider. The verification is based on public records and compared to the information provided by the end users.
It is important that the end user provides full and accurate information.
Tips and best practices:
- Add a verification step in the onboarding process where the end user has to review and re-verify the information they originally provided is accurate.
- Collect the full 9 of the end user’s Identification Number (SSN or TIN).
- Dwolla only requires the last 4 for the first attempt at verification.
- User name should be entered as it shows on a State issued Driver’s License/Identification Card or U.S. Passport.
- Applies to Owners and Controllers of business accounts.
- For a business account, the business name should match exactly to what is registered with the Secretary of State where that business is registered.
