By following the instructions below, you’ll learn how to check the transaction failure reason in the Dwolla Dashboard.

A failed transaction can be related to the main Dwolla account or to a customer.

Failed transaction related to the master Dwolla account

Step 1. Login to the Dwolla Dashboard.

Step 2. Select “Transactions” on the left hand side of the tool bar.

Step 3. Click on “Filter” and select “Failed” from the dropdown list under “Status”.

Step 4. In the search bar, type in the customer’s name, email address, customer ID, or transaction ID.

Step 5. Select the transaction you want to learn more about.

Step 6. The flyaway panel will show the transaction status as ‘Failed.’ The return code or reason for failure will be displayed. If you hover over the information icon next to ‘Failed,’ you will see a more detailed description of the return code.

Step 7. Expand the “Related Transfers” dropdown to see additional related transfers if they exist for this transaction.

Failed transaction related to a customer

Step 1. Login to the Dwolla Dashboard.

Step 2. Select “Customers” on the left hand side of the tool bar.

Step 3. In the search bar, type in the customer’s name, email address or customer ID.

Step 4. Select the “Transactions” tab to view the list of transactions associated with that customer.

Step 5. Click on “Filter” and select “Failed” from the dropdown list under “Status”.

Step 7. Expand the “Related Transfers” dropdown to see additional related transfers if they exist for this transaction.
